Who We Are

IAAR promotes accredited management system assessment by acting as a resource for organizations developing management assessment based programs. IAAR works with industry groups, government agencies and other organizations to provide guidance on the appropriate use of international standards, the accreditation process, the systems certification process and reliance on the accredited certification bodies.

With regard to management systems, the terms systems certification and registration are used interchangeably. Accreditation is the means by which an authoritative body gives formal recognition that a certification body (CB) is competent to carry out specific tasks. Accreditation provides assurance to a CB’s customers that the CB continues to operate according to internationally accepted criteria. The general steps in the certification process are similar for all accredited CBs.
